added what may be my last pictures for 2006, unless something particularly interesting happens in the next few hours. this collection is a little bit on the dreary side but its been kind of dreary. one that i thought was kind of nice was the mid resolution of a the vein structure of a decaying leaf i found.
well its been since may 8 of 'ought-six that ive been working on theis website project. so far ok. it might be fun sometime to post a version of the website as it looked in the first few days of development. anyway looking forward to lots of work to get things set up so that users (esp me) can actually start logging and developing projects. the workspace interface i think will be a place that i need to spend some effort in the near future. now that ive somewhat established the majority of the current projects that i would like to develop, now its just about me figuring out how make web environment tools that actually make working on projects easier faster more organized with one outcome being that i hope i can get more of my projects accomplished rather than just having them drift away as vague memories.
Statistical Significance and Importance
Going over basic statistics again. Reading up on which statistic tests to use, it's always neat to read how unresolved this issue is. Also kinda cool to look at a chaotic interface between human qualities such as "importance" and math. Purity and informative seem often at odds. Could drive up the N to make enzymind the latest proven weight-loss program (p < 0.05)

I'm a believer in thinking about these simple geometric ideas (crop circles, etc.). They lead to interesting ideas more often than not. So much hasn't been done in the intersection between geometry and number theory. I have a little pseudo-coincidental history with the disciplined creativity web page you mentioned, but it'll have to wait. I'm off to the coast for New Years.

I just found your photo of a dog footprint in concrete. Very nice texture, subject, composition and color.
Can I have your permission to repost this variant (on deviantArt), with credit, suitable restrictions (suitable to you) and link to the original?

the bots are back.
yep that second tree is a nice one. looks like they may have done some layering. when i was first setting up enzymind i was looking for a logo and had considered using this brain fractal . then i decided to only have original work on the site. im still reasonably happy with my blue spaghetti earth brain fractal flame thing. seeing it everyday reminds me of the big project that i want to work on: using apophysis to 'top down' model attractors. I'm pretty sure the apophysis IFS fractals can be interpreted as henon or poincare map...which are slices of 3d attractors like the lorenz. i really wonder how close my time series volume rendered fractal flames are to actually possible attractors...i think time should not be the 3rd dimension in that phase space...as with e i wish i knew how to figure out what the right dimensions are. thats going to be the trick for finding attractors: being able to find the most appropriate phase spaces.
