well that was a completely miserable experience. i was poking around the web looking for video software that would allow me to centralize multiple video streams into one final stream. found a program. did a google on the name of the program plus 'spyware' nothing immediately showed up. downloaded program. ran the exacutable installer and when the program ran immediately i was presented with an ad for some bullshit in the video screen. oh crap. yep spyware malware whatever. tried to kill process with task manager -it would not let me, then all my windows froze up and i couldnt navigate. hmm i should probably turn off all the network connections so that its not using my computer as a zombie to broadcast whatever or download all my super duper secrets blah whatever...but *i could not* deactivate my intenet connection. thats never happened before. got some window that said some kind of 'different protocol' was being run. anyway past couple hours restarting, running cleaner software 'spybot seek and destroy' 'hijack this' 'adaware' 'fixlsp' etc (all good cleaning stuff if you get an infection by the way) and i think ikilledit

HA! got the bots or whatever the hell it was...

Hey Mark, do you think it might be feasible and or interesting to try and make a stereoscopic display using something like this ? it has two relatively low res displays, but ill bet that the video inputs could be separated so that two stereo views could be sent to the two screens independently. might be fun to use with a couple of my little wireless cameras mounted together and even better: strap em on the helicopter...

Having a tough time concentrating on little fiddly things. Laundry still needs folding.

I did advance my technology for making a small (~10 cm diameter) precise plywood torus. In particular, I split and reassembled one such that multiple tori can be interlocked and still dimensionally stable. No photo yet.

Tonn Nua 's web site (the band my son Ansel is fiddler for) is up and running.

spent most of this afternoon setting up some of my audio recording software. tried posting an mp3 of a short riff loop thing i was playing with making. I'm hoping whenI finish once and for all grad school aps that I will be able to spend some time recording some music projects I have been wanting to work on. Never got around to it when I was living in the van. seems like mp3s open to a new window with quicktime playing them. Would be better if they opened to a little player in the same window like the wmvs.

Tried flying my heli this afternoon too. I think the guy who sold it to me sold it with a bad gyro cause the thing just is all erratic. God its been pain in the ass getting a decent heli. right now im about to smash my lapptop into a thousand pieces beingcause the tyhpi3 secon=g is responind aboutthree seconds after i type it. done for now
