Server move

So I communicated with my service provider regarding the access problems, and not coming to any clear conclusion, I asked them to move my account to another server. This is the shared-server hosted-account equivalent of turning your home pc off then back on again, the age old cure-all. They will do the move Feb 12 or 13. Users ie Mark please let me know if you are able to gain unimpeded access once again maybe after Feb 14.

Enzymind reboot

I just logged in (2008-04-17 09:25) on a UO wire without the error message, a good sign. I couldn't access from home last evening, but I haven't tried today.

Don't forget to account for Daylight Savings Time, it's April 17 already!

Access stuff

The domain mismatch error on the uofo net was due to a '/drupal/drupa/' pathname duplication in enzymind html which caused a uofo server to get confused. I had to turn off the 'book review' module to remove that html.  Thanks to UofO IT staff for help on that.

Your home access is still a problem. I did the server-move 'reboot' to try and work around any IP blocks. Apparently this did not work if you still can't access. Sending my service provider my IP address was the only thing that could get my access working back in Feb.  I pulled some IP addresses from the server logs and sent them to the service provider to see if this would lift other blocks.

If this does not work by the end of the week to get you access Mark I may just switch to a different webhost. Definitely keep me updated if you or anyone else you know is not able to get access.

access denied

Yes, I still can't access at home, and I know of two others in town that can't access and none that can (besides you).

Couple things

Try clearing all browser caches and cookies, try using a different browser, and also see if you can access my subdomain from home:

 http://www.enzymind.com/varmint5000

What shows up when you try to access the site, a 404 message or just a blank page?

Please keep me updated on this most bizarre and aggravating problem.

Enzymind access

Sorry I didn't see this and respond until now.

Only today have I been able to access enzymind .com, several pages.

Usually I get the "Server not found"  message, just the browser appearing to time out while trying to load the page.

I just tried varmint5000 and got this message -- I couldn't access it.

In general I haven't been able to access at all except on a T1 line at UO.

Enzymind access 2

Hey that post worked! I'm still worried, as the varmint5000 site still doesn't work.

I have tried IE 7 and it didn't work in a similar way. I have also tried clearing browser cache and cookies.

It looks to me like either the server takes too much time to respond, and the browser thinks it is not responding at all, or, the server is denying access because it has some reason to suspect malicious access.

Enzymind access 3

I tried varmint5000 again, just a few minutes later in the same window and the page loaded -- reluctantly as there are many many packets passed ("transferring data") before page is loaded.

So everything works for me for now. If it stops working again I'll let you know, but probably not until Monday.

Things working

Thanks for the access update. Let me make sure I am understanding you correctly: You are able to get full access to Enzymind from both home and work with no problems, other than it being slow? (Enzymind has always been sort of slow I think it has to do in part with the side bar thumbnails  in conjunction with the large size of our gallery database queries etc)

If things are in fact back to all working can you please mention to your associates who have been having similar technical difficulties to try the cookie/cache clear and alternate browser thing. I would really like to get this access problem fixed once and for all. I had been contemplating switching web hosts but it would be a major hassle to move my ~75gb account with all its custom scripts and such.

working

Yes, all is working well, with me making no changes. I'll get the programmers class to check on their systems, and mention cookie/cache clearing.

Good

Great. Wow that was exasperating. So glad this seems to have worked itself out. Was about to get ready to start swinging a dead cat around my head. Please if the site is not accessible for days weeks months be encouraged to let me know as I intend to have it available as an always on anytime place for communal posting sharing discussion etc.
